2019年3月11日に、IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications(PerCom2019)のワークショップとして、International Workshop on Behavior analysis and Recognition for knowledge Discovery (BiRD 2019)を京都国際会議場にて開催しました。ワークショップチェアは玉木徹先生(A02)、依田憲先生(B01)と私が就任し、領域内の多くの先生方にもTPCメンバーとして参加していただきました。本ワークショップは、情報分野の人間行動認識研究がどのように生態や神経科学研究に貢献できるかを主題としており、従来のオーラルによる発表に加え、生態学研究者らによるポスターセッション、情報と生態、神経科学の共同開発に関するディスカッションセッションなどを行いました。ワークショップの参加者は約30名であり、情報技術の動物行動理解研究への適用に関して活発な議論が行われました。
